Against all odds, Yackson stopped eating pizza long enough to finish this page.

Below you will find answers to frequently asked questions, potentially asked questions, and questions which have never been asked by anybody under any circumstances.

What the hell is Yackson’s World?

Yackson already wrote an entire post about this, but the short version is that Yackson’s World is Yackson’s personal corner of the internet.

It’s a blog, review archive, dumping ground for various creative projects, and general mechanism for taking things that would otherwise remain rattling around inside Yackson’s head and putting them somewhere you can look at them.

There isn’t really a more complicated mission than that.

Who is Yackson?

Yackson.

This answer may create several additional questions, but those are problems for the About page.

What does Yackson write about?

Games, music, movies, technology, old shit, new shit, things Yackson collects, things Yackson makes, places Yackson goes, and whatever else has commandeered enough of Yackson’s brain to justify several paragraphs.

In other words, there is no theme.

The theme is Yackson.

How do Yackson’s reviews work?

Everything Yackson reviews receives a score from 1 to 10, without decimals. Things are judged within their own medium, intentions, and creative context rather than being forced onto one enormous universal leaderboard.

Recommendations are also treated separately from scores. Something can be good without being for everybody.

Anyone who desperately needs to know what separates a 6 from a 7 in the mind of Yackson can consult Yackson’s Review Paradigm, an entire document which unfortunately exists.

Why does this website look like this?

Believe it or not, most of this is intentional.

When Yackson first built Yackson’s World, it accidentally emerged looking like the bastard child of MySpace and GeoCities. This was so annoyingly appropriate that there was really no point in fighting it.

So yes, the strange buttons, unnecessary decorations, skeletons, drawings, weird little interactive things, and general refusal to behave like a respectable modern website are supposed to be here.

How often is the website updated?

Whenever Yackson finishes something worth putting on it.

There is no content mill operating beneath Yackson’s World.

There is only Yackson.

Please understand.

Can visitors suggest something for Yackson to write about or review?

You can certainly try.

What’s the deal with the complaint box?

Yackson’s World is proud to offer visitors several convenient ways to have absolutely no influence over Yackson’s World.

What’s the deal with “Play my shitgame”?

That leads to Tournament of Champions, a game that began life as a spreadsheet Yackson used to play with friends.

The easiest explanation is something along the lines of Super Smash Bros. filtered through a tabletop RPG and a tournament bracket. Characters fight, numbers happen, arguments break out, and eventually somebody wins.

This is what technology was invented for.

What’s the deal with “Listen to my shitsongs”?

Those are Yackson’s shitsongs.

Hope this clears things up.

Can I draw you a picture?

You sure can, and it is very sweet of you to offer.

Hit Make Yackson a Drawing!, create a masterpiece, and send it into the void.

Some websites track shopping habits.

Yackson’s World gives you the power to create.

Can Yackson be contacted like a normal person?

Against all available evidence, yes.

Yackson can be reached at reachme@yacksons.world.

Is Yackson’s World supposed to be taken seriously?

Sometimes.

That’s part of the fun.

Yackson can spend thousands of words seriously discussing some obscure game, piece of music, technology, or strange thing worth caring about and then immediately waste valuable server resources on something profoundly stupid.

Neither one invalidates the other.

Is Yackson currently eating pizza instead of working on Yackson’s World?

Absolutely not.

Yackson is working really hard on the F.A.Q. page and is definitely not eating pizza.
